Air Out Your Rugs
Airing out your rugs on a sunny day provides a good dose of UV radiation. Although this isn’t great for our skin, UV rays are good at disinfecting. They kill bacteria, so if you put your rug on your driveway on washing line, for a few hours, this will help to clean your rug, and be better for the environment as you won’t be using anything harmful.
Shake them out really good because a vacuum doesn’t always remove all of the nasty, embedded dust and dirt. It doesn’t have to be exceptionally warm to air out your rugs. Even a nice cooler day, with a mild breeze and the sun shining down, can freshen and lift the nap on a rug.
